Trivento
Chardonnay
A white, chardonnay, from Mendoza, Argentina
Argentina, Mendoza, Trivento, Chardonnay Reserve, 2015

Introduction
Trivento Bodegas Y Viñedos is part of the Concha Y Toro group, with eight vineyards, established in 1996 in the Mendoza wine growing region, with its base south of the town of Mendoza. The name Trivento refers to the three winds that exist in Mendoza, playing a major part in its climate, The Polar, Zonda and Sudestada. The three winds are reflected in the logo with 3 curvy lines in the middle of the T and The God of the Winds, Eolo, is on their side.

The total operation of over 1500 hectares are well kept and include drip irrigation systems, supported by modern wine making facilities, with ageing of their premium wines through using 4500 oak barrels, made from French and American oak. This wine is overseen by wine maker Germán Di Césare, with Trivento since 2002, whose portfolio covers the premium wines and is part of a team of 4 winemakers, each with their own areas.

Insights:
The Chardonnay is partially (30%) aged in French oak barrels for 3-6 months and actually bottled near Manchester. The Reserve range holds 4 reds and 2 white. The other 3 Trivento brands are: Eolo (their top-end wine), Golden Reserve and Amado Sur. As is mentioned on the bottom front label, Trivento is currently an official sponsor for the UK Premiership Rugby. Mendoza produces ca. 2/3rd of the Argentinean wines, with Maipú and Luján being the main departments within.
