A visit to Chapeldown in glorious sunshine and it turned out to be a pleasant one. Whilst visiting the south of England for a week or so in July, a visit to a vineyard had to be on the list. Glorious weather on the day and a friendly welcome by the team on site. We walked around the extensive grounds helped by a map and could see the various parcels of grape varieties.
A tasting of the wines had to follow, but having to consider the driving it was sniffing and spitting for me, whilst the rest of the party enjoyed the wine on show, nicely hosted by a team member. It is not all about wines, as there is a wide selection of their own spirits and beers, together with gifts.
Chapeldown has a variety of activities throughout the year with guided walks, dine & wine experiences and so on. The service was excellent throughout, doing their utmost to promote the brand and all the time in a friendly and relaxed way. I would think many visitors will have become ambassadors for Chapeldown.
I think a return visit is on the cards and then a longer (overnight) visit with food and Chapeldown.
