Wine specifics
Ready to drink and can be left still for a while. Fresh, light/medium-bodied, fruity. Serving light meat dishes, poultry, salads, light cheese. Obtained in France. Cork. Red Sancerre is not often on (UK) wine lists and if you come across it, it is worth a try. Some say, it is like enjoying a light red burgundy. The front labelling does not always give an indication it being a red; look at the colour of the wine and read the back label. The front label is possibly an interpretation of the Sancerre village hilltop.

Insights:
20 Years ago Maison Saget La Perrière decided to cover other areas of the Loire and some of the other properties are Chateau Mullonière, in the Anjou region, Domaine des Grandes Espérance, in the Touraine and Domaine de Terres Blanche, central Loire. There are furthermore interests in a few hotels in the Sancerre. The AOC expanded its area fourfold over the years and the latest adjustments were in 1998. The current regulations state that there cannot be vineyard designated wines.
