Introduction
The wine is produced and imported by Cramele Halewood Romania, a subsidiary of Halewood International, based in Liverpool, UK. Halewood International was founded in 1978 and the first imports from Romania started in 1987 and currently they have several subsidiaries in the country, followed with large investments and they are now into growing, making and distribution.

This particular wine is produced and bottled in the plant of Ploieşti, which is in the Dealu Mare wine region, which is one of the three regions where Halewood is represented. The other two are Podisul Transsilvaniei , to the north west and Murfatlar, to the south east of Ploieşti. For the tourists they have Rhein Azuga Cellars, which is just south from Brasov; historically from 1892 the oldest producer of Sparkling Wine, Rhein Extra, which has been reintroduced and the cellars can be visited.

Wine specifics
Ready to drink and can keep for while. Well balanced, velvety, red berry fruity, hints of vanilla and pepper. Serving game, red meats, pastas, mature cheeses. Obtained in Romania. May not be widely available in UK. Cork. Extracted oak aromas, oak barrelled (225 ltr. barriques) for 12 months, followed by some bottle aging.

Since joining the EU, Romania is working on wine laws, with 3 quality categories in force: Vin de Masa (Table Wine), Vin cu Indicaţie Geografică (IGP) and Denumire de Origine Controlata (AOP/DOC equivalent). Cramele – cellars. In the UK Halewood represents various brands, such as Crabbies and various other gins, vodkas, etc., either as a producer and/or distributor.
